From Grief to Graduation: Aiahne’s Journey with Ten Foundations
At just 13 years old, Aiahne Regulacion faced the unimaginable—losing her mother to stage 4 breast cancer. With no stable home and no clear future, her dream of finishing school seemed to vanish overnight.
But her story took a different turn when Joy Ganadin, then the local manager of Ten Foundations, entered her life. Recognising Aiahne’s determination despite her grief, Joy encouraged her to apply for a scholarship through the foundation. That encouragement changed everything.
In 2014, Aiahne met Papa Ian Campbell, the founder of Ten Foundations. Though he had come from Ireland, thousands of miles away, his mission to support vulnerable families in the Philippines felt deeply personal. To Aiahne, his compassion and belief in her potential were life-changing.
Through Ten Foundations’ support, she enrolled in the Alternative Learning System (ALS) to catch up on missed schooling. She passed both primary and secondary acceleration exams, and with her confidence restored, she pursued higher education. Now, after years of hard work, Aiahne is set to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management.
She credits her success not only to her own resilience, but to the unwavering support of Papa Ian, Joy, Ate Arline (who now manages Ten Foundations locally), and every donor, volunteer, and team member who believed in her.
Aiahne’s story is a testament to the power of community, compassion, and education. From grief and uncertainty, she emerged as a graduate—ready to pursue a brighter future and pay it forward.
